You guys have no freaking idea, lol. I have to remove the coils, ICM, and UIM just to LOOK at my rear valve cover let alone get it off.

The LQ1 looks like a nightmare. Ugh! That would be a hard job. But like I and biggriggs have said, the 3800's are an easy valve cover job. You can do it yourself in less then half an hour and the gaskets cost $12ish for the pair. Like already mentioned, no scraping needed. Pull off the old rubber ones and throw the new rubber gaskets on, bolt up, and done. Sounds easier then the Torino

EDIT: I wouldn't be too worried about a fire. I've had gasoline pour on my Monte's headers 5 minutes after driving it for two hours and nothing happened. I'm not saying that a fire won't happen, but I wouldn't be too worried.

That sucks about the seat. It is defiantly gonna cost $$$ for a good repair. As for the valve cover gasket, the job don't look too bad but I'd do it ASAP. We had a work truck catch on fire from an oil leak after a fifteen minute drive. Burnt the whole front end up.

Augi, if you knew you were gonna have a passenger, then you should have cleared the seat off yourself! Any time I take someone in my car I usually have to clear the seat and the passenger side floor before I let them in my car. On the other hand, if I need a ride in someone elses car I usually look before I leap in, kind of a good gesture to the owner of the car in my mind! Honestly it sucks that your seat got ripped, sorry to hear man!

Chris, I understand your point about clearing the seat of stuff before you pack people into the car. But what kind of person just sits somewhere without looking where he's sitting first? And getting back to what actually happened, what was the guy thinking the entire time he was sitting on the tape measure? He didn't feel it at all? Not only does he owe Augi an appology, he should be paying for the repair. The stain could've been easily repaired with a simple spot repair job with some dye. Now the seat needs a major repair.

Duane, of course it's easier to replace the valve cover gaskets on your Torino. Hell, you could fit a sofa inside the engine bay of a Torino.

What's the status on the valve cover gaskets? You get her up and running?

You might have stuck a sofa in there before a 390 went in that bay... you might get a fold up chair in there now... It wouldn't be so bad if you had a '70 Monte Carlo, those things had a hood longer than anything I've ever seen on them.

Sounds like someone needs an *** whoopin' to me. How big a boy is he?

Well, he's got a measuring tape. He can always measure the size of the guy's butt. (just kidding BTW).
