Personally I like it but it's your car. You gotta do what's right for you not your friends.

As for value, sadly our Montes where not so much a collector's item like the other classic cars.

I've never been much for modifying my cars at all, so I'd say to keep it as is, especially a special edition car such as yours. Mine is just a regular SS, and I want it just like it was when it was new. Plus, I'm a huge Tony Stewart fan so I'd never modify a Tony Stewart edition car... I'd love to have him sign my glove box door if I ever had the chance to see him around here...(Mark Martin has some car dealerships in my area, and Tony has made some appearances there...) However, if none of that really matters to you, then by all means change it up! As was stated earlier, it's your car! Enjoy it how you see fit!

Just my $.02........

No offense intended, but I wouldn't worry about hurting the value at this point. The reason I say this is at nearly 200k miles, the value is nearly all gone anyways regardless if it's a special edition or not.

Sure there are drastic things you could would make the car almost completely worthless (ie cut the roof off), but removing some stickers/ painting a few parts isn't going to have any real impact.

If you're going to keep driving it, it's next owner will likely be the junkyard anyways, so you may as well mod it as you want so you can enjoy driving as much as possible.

yea unless it was like a 12 mile tony Stewart edition there is really no value left on the car besides how valuable it is to you, were you saying it needs a new trans or that it has one?

Then IMO, you should feel free to mod away to make yourself happy with it. Sounds like you may still have some life left in it.

I would keep the orange on it. That's like buying a pace car just to take all the decals off. What's the point in buying the pace car then?? Out in town here there was a guy selling a Stewart edition and he took off all of the orange and thought it was too bland. It breaks up all the black!

Paint your brake calipers orange to match the car.
