On my parent's malibu, when you pop the trunk the lid opens the whole way up.
On my MC it just unlocks and doesn't open the whole way up, is this normal? or are the lift supports just wore in?

Hi Chris,
I have a 06 Monte, & when I open it from the remote or inside, it just
pops open, and does notlift all the wayup; (just a few inches).
I then lift it, and the struts hold it up.
I'm sure that stronger struts could be installed.
I'm sure other members will respond to your question.
I hope that's the only problem that you encounter with your Monte Carlo : )

Mine just comes up a bit too when the truck lid is popped.
I dont think I would like the trunk lid going all the way up. But thats just me.
Kind of like the door locks on my '06. It aggrivates me when you put the car in park the doors unlock. What ifI don't want them unlocked?
