I think yours is cast iron & itll all look good once its done

 

One is cast Iron , other is Aluminum..

I read somewhere that these alternators are a pain to get apart, i think theres soldering involved im probably going to paint mine, it looks like crap

Polishing the alternator will suck lol.. I started to polish mine but it was just too much. The metal is a little different than most. IDK what it is but it's extremely hard compared to mounts/etc.

The mounts on the engine side will look cool. I polished my drivers side one but I have the cast iron mount on the passenger side so idk how I feel about one polished and one painted.

 

Im polishing both mine,but one wont come off

 

any idea how to get 2 Al mounts instead of one Al + one Fe?

 

I need to find a chrome one

 

How did you get that off
