Default passlock bypass to solve security light issue?

Hey guys, just have a quick question. been reading for the past few hours about my security light issue.........starts and runs fine, but almost always upon startup my security light comes on and stays on. if i were to purchase a gm passlock bypass (what they use for remote start kits) would this solve my problem? i dont want remote start for my car, and have the factory alarm my car came with, but if i install just the bypass will it be fine? im just tired of seeing the light come on.

from all my research, looks like everyone blames the light for having bad plating on the connector pins (oxidize over time).

any other ideas i could try?

Hey man it will stop the light from coming on and you will still have the original gm remotes work just tell them that when you put it in that you want them to still work
