They look good, although in MI a ticket would be issued. Definitely too dark. That's what is keeping me from getting tinted tail lights.

 

I believe in Illinois there illegal too, but cops don't really care about them. I've had cops talk to me about my taillights before. They have better things to give tickets out for I guess.

Yeah MI cops won't give too much of a hassle on the rears, but there are those certain officers that when they were with their field training officer, they were Barney and the FTO was Andy, so Barney couldn't do much...now that they are on their own they have to compesate, so they'll write for anything. The only way I would write for something like that is if they were REALLY dark or the guy was being a jerk.

 

There are illegal in WA as well so unfortuntly i can't get them either...so here i am no front licence cover and red taillights wishing the law would let me make this cosmetic enhancements.

I know that here cops are bored so i would get pulled over for it, lol (cuz me and my friends are the cops...lol)

 

I've never found anything about the tails in Wyoming, just that you have to be able to see the red light from so far away.

I agree with the painted look, once I get a look at my first paycheck this summer the tails will probably be on their way.

 

Good test this morning...

So I am on my way to work at 4:30 am or 0'dark hours. On the freeway at about 75-78mph and there are a few cars on the road. Out of nowhere a CHP blasts past me. He travels like 3-4 miles and picks off a F#%d Escort. Now i was in the #2 or 3 lane and he got on and had to cross like 4 lanes to pass me on the driverside so he crossed right on my tail and around me then crossed in front of me and weaved in and out of the #3 and 4 lanes till he went down the road in like the #6 lane till he pulled over that POS. So I know he got a good look at the *** of my SS. No bubbles no troubles here. Pasted the A-Hole test. (I can say that I was GA State Patrol LOL)

 

$250 yikes ....

 

Around here, the only time I've seen someone get nailed with the tinted tails, was in combination with another ticket. Usually a ricer with his underbody neons turned on, loud fartcan exhaust, racing people down busy streets, tunes cranked full.

Cops here are VERY strict about neon lighting outside the car. They would go down the list on the above car if the driver was being an idiot.
Speeding -- ticket.
Neon lighting turned on while driving on a public street-- ticket.
Excessive noise (stereo cranked up and fart can) -- ticket.
Tinting on driver's and passenger's door too dark -- ticket.
Replacing the amber turn signals with blue -- ticket.
Mis-aligned headlights blinding on coming traffic (because the HID conversion was done by a hack) -- ticket
Reflectors on tail lights inoperative because of illegal tinting -- ticket.

Lesson being, most cops will let you slide on something minor like tinted tails as long as your not being an idiot.

 

Blue turn signals, now I like that idea...
