no the inside lip. the backspacing will not help. first of all what size are you looking to get and you planning to lower the car. if you are "yes" you going to have to roll the inside fender lip.

Love the engine mods. Did you have your plastic engine cover painted and flamed like your valve covers? Or am I thinking of someone else? Not that I would use it with that sick looking supercharger.

i didnt want to go with a 9in wide rim id like to stay at an 8inch. by outside i meant rubbing on the inside of the quarter not the inside of the car. like on my 80 the 275s are close to the inside like i mean the frame of the car not the quater panel but they dont rub at all. i dont really want to roll the fenders or quarters of this car. i was looking on the links that you posted and they didnt have any sizing options. they were 18x9 +36. i might be wrong but the last time a looked at ssc site it was a drop of like an 1.75inch. i dont want to run to wide where they will stick out or rub though once the car is dropped.

+36 will be perfect, will not stick out hardly. mine is +34 offset. +30 or +24 is when you going to see them stick out. i'm not sure if they have 18x8 maybe ebay might. you will still rub with 18x8 if you lower with that size. if you don't want to roll fender lip you might get away with 17x8 which is stock 'stang bullitts wheel size, but i don't think you want to down size since you already running 18 now. just roll the damn fender lip and he happy with the nice stance look, lol.

lol. ok fair enough. i was just trying to avoid being a silly *** with this car in case in the future i have to sell it. you know how it is you get a bunch of tire kickers coming to look at it and they start questioning every single thing and haggling away. the the + and higher number moves it deeper into the car? i thought that that had to do with the face of the rim like making it look more deep dished or less? like i said i dont really deal with offset fwd stuff. im really good with backspacing and rwd setups.

yeah something like that +34-40 should be fine and the lower the number the more it will stick out. here's why you should not go with 10" wide wheel. 9" is the widest you want.
