Default the original 2000-2005 Ground effects?

So I call several dealers asking about the "ground effects, I would like to add them to my 2004 MC SS. Some say GM never made ground effects and others called them "rockers". A few knew exactly what I was talking about. I varied prices from $1,000- $5,000. Some said I might need new "facia" front and Back? (Sp?). I should be able to connect the "ground effects" right to the car correct? The car originally didn't come with them. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

P.S. sorry if I put this in the wrong section, couldnt figure out which one to put it in.

My understanding concerning the high sport ground effects is that the front and rear bumper covers have slots cut in them and the pieces have tabs that fit into those slots. That being the case, you'll need the new bumper covers or a dremel, a steady hand and a lot of free time! :-P

Either way good luck and keep us updated!

GMPartsDirect is just a dealership. They aren't really a Chevy Distribution Center. They don't always carry parts in stock and can take forever to get things. Plus they may be cheap, but they make up all those prices for shipping.

I would use the site as strictly a way to get part numbers, and then ask your local dealership to order it for you if you want it.

I tried to buy a GMPP Exhaust through them, wound up after 30 days they didn't even get my order in stock yet and didn't know when it would be available.

They allowed me to cancel and order through someplace else.
