Default Oh boy....

Well, it happened.. as I was taking a corner, the traction control kicked in, and scooted me too far to the right while turning into my driveway... I clipped the passenger side body kit, luckily, nothing more... just the ground effect, from the small window on towards the rear...

I am trying to find the replacement, so that I can buy it, and then take it to my own body shop, so that GM doesn't charge me 800 bucks for one side skirt.. :-/

Anyone have any recommendations? I have looked on GM Parts direct and everywhere, and have came up with nothing :-/

At least get your part #from your dealer, then try GMpartsdirect, or maybe PFYC, as they are a GM dealer, also. There is some on Ebay, ocassionally.

Thanks Wayne, I took your advice, called them... My dealer wants 700 dollars, GM Parts Direct wants 460 or so, and I am taking the car to get an estimate at my local body shop (not gm sponsered) and they think they can get it for cheaper than that...

And in case you are curious for future reference, the part number on that is 12493722

OH, and there are supposedly only 18 more in the entire country, GM wide...

Thanks Space, tomorrow morning am headed out to get an estimate, and hopefully can be fixed in the next few weeks... It is EMBARASSING to be driving around with my car, with that stupid side skirt hanging down... when getting it appraised tomorrow, I will take a picture in the daylight of what it looks like... very ugly and disgraceful to the Monte Carlo Family :-(

Damn, Keegan, that really sucks. Sorry to hear it. What the heck caused that, was the road snow covered or icy?

Yah, our driveway is a secondary road, and they don't salt us until after the primaries are done... needless to say, they hadn't gotten to us yet :-(

FYI there may only be 18 countrywide because since this is a late model Monte they won't keep alot on hand. They make them as needed.
