i believe i posted in this thread a while back ... but also believe i may now post again, based on recent updates ... and i also think that, besides tints, i may have the most blacked out 7th gen ... at least the most blacked out 7th gen SS ... i could also be wrong :p

The MPD version of the hood has a metal base and better build quality

I didn't know MPD sold them. That is some good info to know. They are a little more expensive though.....and I am a poor college kid lol The body shop said it was a decent hood when they worked with it so hopefully it will last me.

Looking at the pics on the site it appears as though its and actual functioning ram air hood.. Is this accurate? I have to ask for the simple reason that i would LOVE to have a functional ram air hood and not just the scoop for "decoration" like so many others.

I guess you got lucky when you bought yours then. Since it doesn't have the steel base the risk of warping is much greater. Then the fiberglass work that is needed costs $$$$$

Yup thats correct. The hood is functional! When it is shipped the hole on the under side of the hood isn't cut out so you have to do that yourself. But once you cut it out there is definitely some air flow.
