Question Offers to buy

I have a '87 White Monte Carlo SS that is clearly not for sale but yet people ask all the time if I want to sell it and they are quite persistent about it. Now, it isn't in the best condition but it isn't in too bad of shape. I always tell them no it isn't for sale. I seriously want to ask where they see a for sale sign but I don't. Not yet, anyway. Does this happen to everyone with a Monte Carlo? If so, why? (when clearly it isn't for sale)

probably because a lot of people are stupid. perhaps they think it a compliment? maybe theyre serious, and dont know that they made a billion monte carlos from 81-88 that wouldnt take too work to make identical to an ss. i think every cars got its price. most people will say its not for sale, but im sure theres a price you would take for yours.

Thanks for the replies. I agree that people are just stupid. It's my only car so I have no intentions of selling it. Next time someone asks though, I'm just going to say $5,000.00 and see what happens.

5000 ......I'll take it. I think people ask because its an older in nice shape and maybe your not attached to it and will sell. When I had my 86 GMC truck people asked all the time. Even coming to the door at my house.

Make some version of 'not 4 sale' as your license plate. That should stop them :p

Because that year can go from 13k-20k depending on options, miles, and condition. If someone finds one and the person doesn't know what they have they get it cheap. Easy Resto project and you can sell it for a few grand more then you paid for car+resto. And if your selling a 87 SS depending on options I would pay 5k. especially if it was an areo coupe.
