Not many on the road
So I was curious as to how many 06 and 07 monte Carlo's were made. And I was kind of shocked to be honest. with the 06 only 32,567 were produced and with the 07 only 10,889 were produced. It's a crazy feeling to know that you own something that there really aren't to many of. I wasn't able to find out how many of each trim were built. But even if it were split up equally that would be like 6,500 of each different trim for the 06 and only like 2,200 of each trim on the 07 but I'm sure it wasn't split up that equally. Not to mention all the Monte's that have not been taken care of or crashed. So if you think about it how many good looking 7th gen Monte's are still on the road and how many are around you? I know of only 2 around me and neither are a 7th gen. But anyway I just got bored and looked all this up and felt like sharing it.

they dont seem overly popular out here in jersey. i can tell you that theres some guy about a mile from me with a victory red 06. thats 2 of the 12xx made in 06 in that color, and ive seen maybe a handful more of them over the years here. they seem more popular in the mid west. i assume victory red and black are probably the most common colors so 12xx in red id say that 6500 total ss cars in 06 might be a little high. id guess more like 4xxx. just a guess though maybe more maybe less. heres a link to a site that used to give you all the breakdowns of models, options, and numbers produced. dont know if its still free or not. Comprehensive Chevrolet, Saturn, GMC, Hummer, Cadillac, Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Geo, Dodge, Plymouth, Jeep, Chrysler, Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda Truck, Mercedes VIN Decoder ill also assume that red jewel tintcoat and black amethyst cars with the beige interior and no sunroof would be the rarest probably only a handful if any like that. the lax supers are the rarest of the ls4 cars. on a side note i guess thats why there isnt an 08-13 8th gen. i just dont think they were desirable. they were way too expensive, and they still are for some reason.

Units sold for 2006 was 34,113 for the Monte Carlo. Unfortunately production numbers do not further break down into individual trim levels, i.e. LS, LT, LTZ, SS. Although I believe I saw somewhere that the production number for the SS in 2006 was 10,880, so a little less than 1/3 of total units sold for that year.
Most that I see in Michigan seem to be 6th Gens. The 06-07's are around but by far more rare and I hardly ever see any SS's. It's nice to own a car that is not owned by half the population.

Wow, i this sent chevrolet an e-mail on this very matter no longer then 2 weeks ago,The person that was helping me could not come up with the break down of trim levels with the 06 & 07s. Its funny that GM can not or will not have the data on this. But any way, she thinks less then 9000 06 ss were made & less then 5000 with the 3.9 ltz & lt3, and she thinks less then 3500 ss in 07 but that was her best guess.I do not know how much i trust them numbers or were she got them from.
