Lots of people like them. Never had that gen myself. As far as was it worth it , I 'd say "wheres the pics. Introduce yourself in the newbie section. Will be an extra post for you. Have to have so many to post pics unless you copy/paste from like photobucket I think. Welcome

idk. it all depends on what you want to do with the car. if its going to be a cruiser and you dont mind doing body work doesnt seem like a problem. if its going to be a street race drag car i would look for something with a straight body and interior since at the end of the day your going to want to swap the motor trans and rear. body work is something i would do my best to avoid. i dont buy that it only has 50,000 miles on it, and i would makesure its at least a 305 cause i was under the impression that the 305 was kinda rare in them unless it was a california car. they usually have the 267 which is a complete piece of trash. on third gen montes since body panels are next to impossible to find you need to really take a close look at this car. frame horns, floor boards near the cat, door bottoms, and wheel wells have a tendency to rot out. i know for a fact that some of the 78 cars had aluminum trunklids, 305s, and ac delete plates in them. the one that i saw in person had a console, floor shifter, bucket seats, ac delete, aluminum trunklid, and the support bars under the hood. idk if these are special drag pack cars or not, but ive only seen one like that. just be sure to look the car over closely and get the casting numbers off of the motor driver side near the firewall to insure that its a 305. and low ball the guy offer him a g in cash. good luck with it.

TheMonteman Thanks for the tips , I just bought for $1k is a 305 for sure and engine and transmission are very strong , need a paint job A.S.A.P and new brakes . The interior is good no rip seats (leather) and the motor of the windows are in good shape , the only thing bad is the carpet
and a small crak on the dash

np man.the dash is a common problem. i believe the brakes on 78 are a little different than the rest of the g bodies. if youre going to throw money at it now would be the time to get the tubular control arms for it and upgrade the brakes to the second gen camaro set up. the spindles can be found at the junkyard and the rotors calipers and pads can be found at any part stor. this is a vast improvement over the stock stuff.
