yes, thats true. the monte carlo went out of production on June 20, 2007. the factoyr is oging to convert over to teh new zeta platform, which is mid size and full size V8 rear wheel drive vehicles. this technology will be used for the camaros, impaals, and the return of hte monte carlo around 2010.

Yes, you are close, but it is the other way around....

There are no more Monte Carlos by Chevy, so NASCAR will no longer use it.

It has been said by one exec at GM that the RWD Monte may comeback "after" 2010. Now the problem is with the new mpg guidelines that many projects have been placed on hold indefinatly except for the Camaro and it was either the Impala or Lumina. I would have to dig back to find the exact news story.

X2. They kept the Impala because they sell better as they are more family oriented cars. Coupes in general don't sell as well if they aren't "sports" cars.

I'm glad they're not bringing the Lumina name back. That would be like bringing the Pontiac J2000 back.
What's the point?

As long as the child car seat laws get strickter and the malls become more abundant, 4 doors will dominate sales.

I would doubt it if we saw 6 or 7 door cars soon.

Actually bringing up the baby thing, I'm working on an Idea for a child seat that will remind the driver when they leave the vehicle that the kid is still in there.

Too many stories this summer of people forgetting about their kids in the car and it has gotten to me.
