Default Newb

Hi Guys, Newb here, thinking about buying a 4th gen SS.
Can someone point me to a thread which tells how to identify a real SS from just a clone and also tell me what were some of the most desirable options that I should be looking for. I guess the AeroCoupes would be the most rare, but I don't think I want to pay the premium for that.

I think I'm looking for an unrestored car that has a solid body but is need of a some mechanical work and/or a new paint job.

Thanks

Make sure the 8th digit in the VIN is a "G"

Check the trunk lid sticker and make sure the following codes are present:
B4V
L69
F41

4th gen SS was also only 83 to 88
last of the rear wheel drive V8's

the wiki on the MC is pretty informative

83 SS and 84 were only white or blue exterior.
83 SS only had bench seat w/column shift
84 bucket seats were an option , all 84 and 83 SS were non over drive. 85-88 cars had 200r4 trans with o/d.
