looks nice...

i def. like the side skirts and the rear but im not quite sure of the front... not to knock on your car.. it does look alot better then a plain monte.

RE: New Xenon Kit!

The front is actually only about 75% done. I didn't have the $$$ to do it right now but when I do I will have the "insert" on the front painted black. A little help from Photoshop...

RE: New Xenon Kit!

I don't like it, but let me explain.

I'm not a big bodykit fan, first off, but if it fits right and accentuates the lines of the car instead of redefining the lines then I'm alright with them. That kit, although unique and decently clean looking, doesn't fit clean enough for me. It reminds me of back in high school when the fat kid was too embarrassed to dress for gym class, so he'd throw on his sweats over his jeans and think he could get away with it. That kit looks just as bulky as a fat kids sweats when he's got jeans on underneath. If they could clean up the seams/overlays it would be a badass kit but the added "lip" it gives the car is unattractive as it adds bulk to a car that needs no more girth.

I get a kick how people have to knock stuff. The great thing about cars is they are a great way to express yourself. I think it's a good looking kit. Though I prefer my factory kit that doesn't make it any better, just different. What fun would it be if our Montes all looked the same. I'd bet a set of the Camaro rectangle tips would look cool with that kit. Good job and post some more pics when you get the front end done.

I get a kick how people get their panties twisted when someone shares an opinion that doesn't coincide with that of thier own. The great thing about having unique ideas and thoughts is they are a great way to express yourself. What fun would it be if we all thought the same?

I guess the point I'm trying to make is don't catch feelings when somebody shares their opinion on something, it's just that, their opinion.

Please tell me you have more of a life than to come online and make comments with the sole intent of "striking a nerve".

If showing you the irony of your initial and subsequent comments = striking a nerve, then yes, you struck a nerve.

LOL. The move went fine, but I'm kind of in a catch 22 with my job. I had to take the job with the other department, which in itself is not a bad thing. However, I got stuck working swing shift, 12:30pm till whenever (mostly 10-12hr days) and my days off are Wed and Thurs. The good thing is that my take home pay has increased by 50%, so what's my issue? My kids just started basketball season and I can't participate in practices (which are Tues and Fri, early evening), but also, since my days off are school days I won't be able to do much with them. And on gamedays (Saturday), while they did give me the ok to take an extended lunch so I could attend the games, as soon as the game is over I have to go right back to work. So my job pretty much took away 80% of the time I was able to spend with my kids. I guess it could be worse, but it's extremely disappointing after being away from them for a year, to come back the week before basketball season and not get to participate. My children and I were so excited about the timing of it and it just seemed so perfect, then I got my schedule and it let all the wind out of my sail. The money is lovely, no doubt about it, but I was doing just fine before so I'd gladly give some of it back to get some more time with my kiddo's. I guess I just have to make due for now.

The supervisor told me he'd like to make me the lead, which would give me more money and more flexability in my schedule so I have to get crackin' so I can get my commercial license w/air brakes/hazmat/tanker endorsements so I can take that position.

I feel your pain, spending time with your family is important. I am sure with time things will get better with your schedule. What happened to the medical field position your old company had laid out for you?

who are you talking to? What opinion are you talking about? WHO are you? How, out of curiosity, would I "take his opinion"?

Since you blurted out some random crap like somebody with tourette's syndrome in the middle of a conversation, I can only assume you're talking to me but your e-toughness makes it impossible for me to take you seriously.

I'm still in the medical field and with the same company, the only difference is instead of doing the assembly, modification and customization of the patient owned equipment I now deal with the oxygen concentrators, liquid oxygen tanks and portable oxygen cylinders for patients who rent said equipment. The lead of the logistics department (the department i'm now in) has to be able to perform any and all tasks handled by the logistics department including any and all driving duties, which is why I need to get my commercial license.

no actually i wasnt...i was talking about the other person talking about your opinion... sorry my "e-toughness" threw you off....because i personally hate when someone makes an opinion and then someone gives an opinion on your opinion.. its not the point of the forum is it?

I wasn't looking to start a war. Opinion or not I can't see knocking someones hard work. I was taught that if I didn't have anything nice to say don't say it. If you don't like keep to yourself. Respond or don't, I really don't care and won't bother checking back in on this post to find out.

I've had my eye on Dealership Designs Intimidator kit ~ L I N K ~ but I really like having my fogs.

You know, I thought the same thing the first time I saw it. But it's kinda grown on me a bit.

Maybe I am just wierd, but I like the rear spoiler as well. The last time we talked about this kit I was the underdog and more than likely will be again... lol

Then I stand corrected and apologize. It would make it easier if you would quote the person whom you're responding to, just a suggestion. I too hate it when people try to debate someone's opinion, and hate it even more when someone posts their car online and gets bothered when someone expresses their thoughts on it. If you don't want to hear what people think about it, don't put it up for all to see.

I don't know for sure, but if they are anything like the Razzi kits in price, I've seen $700 and up. That's insane!!

RE: New Xenon Kit!

Jesus Christ...I stop checking this thread for a while because it wasn't getting replies and when I do come back, its been hijacked by a flame war.

Kinda reminds me why I don't post here often...

I personally don't mind hearing someone's criticism of anything I do to my car. It is their opinion, and I will accept it as that as long as it is presented in a civil way. Refering to my car as "a fat kid" isn't quite what I'd call civil, but I know what was meant by it. I understand not everyone will like anything I do to my car, but you don't have to drive it, so don't be a jerk about it.

BTW, the kit ran me about $800 shipped.

Anyway, to get this thread back on track, I recently added some red pinstriping to the kit to give it that little something extra. Let's please try to act like adults (those of you who ARE adults, anyway)

You have a clean ride. I like the rear section with the Bad Azz Exhaust outlets.

Thanks for taking the time to share your pic's. U. R. making it your ride, 4 $ure.

RE: New Xenon Kit!

Ya personally I think it looked better before the kit. The part i really don't like is those little inset squares on the sides. I am also not a fan of painting body kits different colors. I think it would have been better if it had been painted to match the car. Now the nascar kit I think is kinda cool but the front end is a little weird because it is so round and smooth.

Yellow_Monte 04-30-2006 08:59 PM

RE: New Xenon Kit!

Hmm... for some reason now I think it looks alot better with the red pinstripes. I still don't like the sides much but the back and front end is nice.

Fo' sho...the pinstripe definitely sets it off. You know, I really didn't like this kit when I first saw it (i think the two tone look put me off), but I actually really like it now. I have seen one in full body colour (below) and I think it looks clean. I'm considering it for mine now (all silver), seen it for about 6-7 hundred. I like this one better than the Razzi kit.

Good work, BlueEssEss!!

Super Clean Ride...Thanks 4 Sharing the Pic's B-4 & After.

I love it when members post pic's of what they have done to their Monte's to make it their own.
I'll keep dreaming & saving & hope that I can post some B-4 & After pic's of my Monte in the future...

I'm still waiting from my check from Montejass "Todd" $$$$$:)

I like the looks of the kit on your ride with the color(s) you chose. I am personally not a fan of fake scoops (like on the skirts) but you could fill them in with black paint or even some grille material. At the end of the day it is what YOU think looks good on YOUR car.
