Default New Tires and Pics

Got myself a new set of 235/50R18 Michelin Pilot Super Sports installed today; ultra-high performance summer tire. Like I mentioned a bit earlier, oh my God these Pilot Super Sports are incredibly quiet. Feels and sounds like the car is floating down the road. It even feels like I get some ride quality enhancement with these tires matched the Bilstein HD's and CM lowering springs I'm running. Feels great. After tires ($210 a piece), mounting, balancing, and an alignment, it set me back $1,025.

Also some more shots of those recently installed headlights. Thanks for looking!

Way to go Matt, getting off the big bucks for a comfortable ride!! How did you decide on the Michelin's? I bet thay are bad azz, Michelin makes wonderful tires. Being an Ultra High performance tire are you going to put her through the paces and pulls some G's at on and off ramps? I'm happy for you, nothing like good tires to protect your investment while rolling down the road at high speeds.

The new headlights give your Monte's front end a killer look. Nice move there to. Is your exhaust stainless? Looks like it to me. Good job Matt!!

Thanks everyone! I've only got about 25 miles on these new tires but so far I'm very impressed. Thanks also for the kind words on the new headlights. Like I've said before, I put a lot of work into those over a long period of time so it's nice to hear the feedback. Definitely worth the time I spent on those.

Thanks Dave and, no, they're warranted for 30k miles. The Super Sports are a softer compound tire so it wears a bit quicker; treadwear grade of 300, traction grade of AA, and temperature grade of A.

Thanks Greg! I've actually been researching tires for at least the past five months and was interested in running a summer tire this time around. I looked at a couple all-season tires but for summer tires I looked at the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2, Pirelli P Zero Rosso, and the Michelin Pilot Super Sport. The Super Sport was consistently the highest reviewed tire I was looking at. I read through hundreds of pages of reviews on that tire, all positive, and I also love its tread pattern.

The exhaust is stainless, yes. It's MagnaFlow's cat-back system. I installed it last March.

Very nice Matt. I'd be too afraid to put summer tires on my DD because I run the stock rims until the last minute to save my winter tires. If I ever need new tires for my 03 Monte I'm probably going to stick with the Goodyear RSAs because I want to keep it as stock as possible (if they still make them). I'm still running my original tires on my 03 LOL!!!!
