new stuff for my 5th gen... dial up beware!!
well, i decided to get off my butt today and tinker with my monte today. first i stold the red bowtie center caps off of my dads 96 Z34 SS and put them on my wheels. i figure im gonna paint mine red soon, caus his are kinda beat up.
my dad also told me i could use his " cozmic charlie - keep on truckin'..." floormats that hees had since 1967, but they needed a major cleaning.
before --
and after, taken inside the monte -
they fit pretty good, too...
the biggist thing i did was to paint the details on the intake manifold for my 3.1 with my red touch up pen. i also sanded & cleaned the manifolds surface. see the differance for yourself:
looks good, huh. i definitly need to touch it up a lil, but better than it was.

thanks. what i thought would look cooler would be to polish the " fins " and letering up real good, and remove and paint the whole manifold red, orange, or black, like a set to old school valve covers. id mask the tops of the fins & lettering, so everything would be colord except for the tops of the fins.
the way i did mine was a 20 minute job, i used fine grit sandpaper over the whole manifold to clean off the pitting & dirt, and then wiped it down with a rag soaked with brake parts cleaner. then i used a Q tip, soaked with brakecleen to go over the fins & lettering, to get any other dirt off. then i just used my dupont touch up pen, that i got in wally world to use on some scrapes and dings. i gotta go back over it & tidy it up a lil bit, but it really makes it "pop"
i might also might paint the exaust manifold heat sheild with a high- temp black paint, so it does not rust out.

on my 95 and 03 i ended up taking the heat sheilds off prob not the best idea but i havent had any issues and i painted the exhaust manifolds gloss black it really set the engine off..on my 95 ii upgrated to a newer 3100 like a 2000 upper and lower intake manifolds... painted everything gloss black..and painted the 3100 red..with red spark plug wires it looks sharp

a quick update, more simple mods
hey, everyone! i just took some pics of my new home- made 3rd brakelight cover, it came out ok, for 15 minutes of work and 2 coats of black paint. i put it on the package tray light, i dont have a spoiler, so i make the lightcover out of cardbord cut to fit. its supposed to look like a bowtie....
i also figured i would post the before and after pics of the dent on my front fender, which we pounded out when i put my new battery in.
thats my dad in the pics, as you can see we used the most 'pufisticated' tools at our disposal: a BFH and a peice of firewood, lol.

it came out pretty good, not great but alot better than it was, i HATED that dent, lol.
