sound good. i don't want no fancy setup like yours. just a neat basic setup is good enuff for me. have good idea how i want it to look like. i'm only want one sub to be mount. have an amp already it's a older rockford punch with 1000 max power. all i need is a sub and a wire kit and i'm pretty set. i mostly listen to rock and metal so what sub a i need to get that clear hard hitting bass?

If you listen to rock and metal... I would probably recomend a 10" sub......and me personally I would go with like an Alpine type-R 10" or a MTX 5500 or 7500 10". I think both of those would sound great with that amp! The reason I wouldnt go with a 12" is because that will produce more bass and for that type of music... thats not really what your going for

i have shop told me to go with 10" too, but i always wanting a single 12" cuz the 10" would look too small in the trunk and might not produce the sound that i want. little bass probably be ok too.

i'm going with 2 10". these are custom made subs. anybody from chicago that go to the flea market on cicero and divison st. will probably know this guy. well he's dead now but his son took over the business. "pops" that's the name of his brand. his 6x9 sound clean and hard hitting than most after market 6x9. you got to hear it to believe it. i had his 6x9 years ago. thumping, if you ever get a chance to come visit chicago on the weekend i'll take you out.

stupid question, I know you said they are custom made by his son now, but does he have a website or any other online info? I'm sure if he did he would get a ton more exposure for his business, let us know and maybe even let him know that would most likely get him more business also. thanks

Sounds good... I will actually be in chicago for the auto show in feb. 2 10's will sounds nice and crisp with your music and that amp will be plenty to handle that!
