Yeah.... It's going to be a pretty nice change up for the Monte Carlo.

I have my reservations due to it being FWD but I will hold my true feelings till I get a test drive.

I will always keep my 2003 3.8L non SC, but when this puppy is paid off I am getting a GTO.

I can not agree more... They are starting to look like the other rental cars.. lol

They really should come up with a RWD V8 monte down the road.

Yes, and a RWD Monte version looks like it's slipping away. GM is headed for some rough seas and I fear the move towards enviro friendly cars/technology is on the horizon. Remember a while back when gas prices hit the roof similar to what has taken place today? This could be the end of this muscle car age, AGAIN.

Well it looks like those who have cars such as the Monte Carlo or Impala and get decent mileage better hold on to their cars for a while. Yesterday, regular unleaded gas was $2.07 and today it blew up to $2.15. Thats 87 octane not super. What the heck is the deal?
I got rid of my 2004 silv. Z-71 for economy and because I liked the Monte styling and s/c. I'm glad I did. My truck got about 12-13 in the city. You should see this trend in the future as a lot of the SUV owners and truck owners dumping the gas guzzlers. Truck and SUV sales are at an almost all-time low. Economy vehicle sales are booming. Chevys new Cobalt's are leaving our lot here pretty steadily.[sm=goodidea.gif]

well i hear what you guys are sayin but im still gonna enjoy my monte. i just have to get her done within the next two months before the first cruise night. id rather run my monte to try and get some looks but i know it aint gonna be the fastest one out there. but like yall are sayin the prices of fuel are outrageous, but its gonna be like when my parents were younger they cruised all night on a buck. when i have kids and they are old enough to drive they will say they wished they would have been able to drive when we were younger, meaning today. so it all is going to go up eventually especially when we "run out". all i know is im puting together my monte and i will enjoy it as much as possible, all ive gotta do is win the lottery.
