Default New 2006 Monte Carlo LT

Looking at the Chevy dealer yesterday afternoon (closed Sun) and found a loaded 2006 Monte Carlo LT w/1200 miles with a 3 year/bumper to bumper warrenty. All new car tags still on the dash, seatbelts, etc.
Isn't it odd for a new MC to sit on a lot for 3/4 years???
In 2006, were dual chrome tipped exhaust standard or option? This MC has dual pipes w/no tips. All new car pics I have seen show chrome tips.
Not saying this is a wreck, but normally don't factory fixed wrecks go to the auction???
If I posted in the wrong group, pls forgive but need advise. As soon as the wife comes home, I am off to the dealer. Thanks James

Hi `James,
Great find 4 Sure. If it has factory dual tips, it's a LT3
and has the 3.9L engine, 242 HP
Should have 17 inch Rim's if it's a LT3.

I would ask the dealer for a CarFax report & if the vehicle has
ever been titled.
Please keep us updated. What are they asking for it ?
Look forward to your updates.
Good Luck from`Space

My 06 LT3 did not have Chrome tips, just dual exhaust.
The 3.5 L had single exhaust from the factory.

Default Thanks,

That is what I needed to know. On my way to the dealer now. CarFax, will do. Might just drive it home. They are asking 16,900 fully loaded. Yet to see the invoice. Will let you know. Never expected to find car new.

sounds like a good deal to me. see if they're willing to deal and talk the price down a little and you'll have yourself a hell of a deal.

Default Just back from the dealer

The car is new, never titled and still has a new car smell. For some reason, it just never sold. It is a 06 LT3 w/1183 miles. The car was born on 11/05 and has sit on the lot. Most of the time under cover of the roof. It is showing some of the normal dryrot on the rubber. All to be replaced. Made offer to the dealer to include 100k/7yr bumper to bumper warrenty. Had to start somewhere. Got the required but, but Mr James from the salesman BUT he did not flintch and will run it up thru the manager. Waiting on a counter offer now. They have already spent way too much in interest.
More LED lights and conveniences than I expected, tire air, compass etc.
Romped on it on the highway, it gets up and goes.
When I close the deal, will post a pic with the particulars.
What can I expect for gas mileage? The sticker said 20 city/30 hwy. Does that equate to 17/25? Thanks

This is shocking. I really hope you get this deal. What is the sticker MSRP on it? What color? leather? What did you offer them?

MPG, mines at 25mpg for the last 4-5k miles. All sorts of different city/highway driving with lots of WOT. The worse thing about driving a haul truck is that I have to drive it at WOT all the time and that's how I'm starting to drive my car when not paying attention.

I have gotten over 30 mpg on 100-200 mile long trips but for the most part I get about 28-29 on the highway at 70mph.

Dual tips are standard on the 3.9L but not the chrome tips, so those were probably dealer added.
