Default Need some advice on a w-body with 5.3L

I am looking into getting a 7th gen Grand Prix for my fiance as her daily driver. Just wanted some input on the 5.3l V8 engine in some of those cars? I know they are the same engine that is in the 7th gen Monte's and hoping that some of you 7th gen owners can give me a little advice. I haven't spent much time researching info on those engines as both my '97 Grand Prix and my Monte have the 3.8l engine. Pro/Cons, known issues, etc would be great in helping us make a desicion on getting one of these cars.

There are a couple '06 GXPs near me that I am planning to check out this week sometime. Both have about 150000km on them, think thats about 80000miles.

Thanks

You are familiar with the 4t65e-hd transmission and its issues right? They are apparent on this car too.
