Default Need help w/ intake & carb

I am working on putting in a new edlebrock performer intake and carb. All has gone well so far (bolting things up) but I can seem to figure out how to connect the throttle and choke... Also, since I am going with a non-computerized carb, I am a little confused with all the extra hoses and wires. Forgive me for my stupidity, I am a chick, have no car exp other than replacing the orig carb once before, but I am trying to learn! Any thoughts would be greatly helpful! Thanks

What type of carb (Edelbrock, Holly, etc.) and what type of transmission do you have? You may need a special throttle plate adapter for the accelator cable and trans cable.

Sorry, I noticed you already mentioned the intake and carb and I had already typed an answer. However, if you have an OVERDRIVE TRANS (200-4R or 700-4R) it will be controlled by a TV cable which hooks up to the carb. THIS IS NOT JUST A PASSING GEAR CABLE. Adjustment is critical to the proper operation and shifting of the trans, especially when installing an aftermarket carb. Your factory setup won't work. A company called Sonnax Performance makes adapters for the Edelbrock setup. It is called a TV Cable Corrector, Part # AS3-03K. It costs about $30.00 and will allow the proper operation of the cable from idle to full throttle. I can send the website to order from if you need it. Good luck.
