Hi y’all it’s been a while since I’ve been on the forum I just started school a couple of weeks ago and well just about a week ago I bought myself a daily driver finally so now I can stop driving the navy blue one daily to tell you the truth I found the new car by accident as I wasn’t really looking for anything and then there it was for 550 a 2002 torch red Monte Carlo ss in the auto parts section of Craigslist it ran and drove but it needed some work big thing being the exhaust and some other little things what made this deal better was that it also came with lots of free parts and for the price I payed cosmetically it’s clean and needs only a few things big one being rust repair at the quarter panels and rockers it’s loaded too black leather interior heated front seats sunroof can’t complain under the hood needs plugs and wires done needs some coil packs and a basic tuneup and then it should be good it’s got 254,000 miles and counting love these cars couldn’t have felt more confident about my purchase but what do you all think?

Those were from the craigslist add now hers photos of it in my hands it’s Changed quite a bit I had lots of parts laying around myself
Nice buy if you ask me, As long as you are happy, that is what really matters ! Personally I would never buy a red car, because Red cars always got me tickets!

Yeah red isn’t really my thing either but Monte Carlos get a pass with me as I do think it fits their curvature but not my first choice by far it’s been a entertaining project for sure!
Okay, time for a small update I dont have that much time to sit on the computer unfortunatley, or at least not as much as I did when I was a kid, so the updates dont come so frequently.
Transmission and motor are both restored. The transmission needed new bushings due to low oil pressure, new gaskets of course and also new clutch plates. Looks like new both inside and out. The motor have new seals and gaskets, I had the heads looked at and they did a valve job. Pistons and rings are still the same, they looked good. All sensors and senders are new, and the carb is rebuilt. Thinking of getting a 4 barrel on it but it's not a priority now. The engine block and heads are painted blue, valve covers and some other gadgets are black. I have installed new bushings in the front end of the car, and replaced wheel bearings and brake hoses in the front. New steering kit also, and all painted black with rust protection paint as everything else.
Yesterday I started the frame work. It needs a good cleaning and i'll have it painted with black 2-comp rust protection paint. So far, under all the dirt, the frame is like new. Shiny and in real good condition. Very nice to see!
Once the frame is done, I'll start with the body as it needs a paint job.
