Ha So my monte scared the crap out of me all of a sudden I could hear a knocking sound and my heart just sank put my ear up next to the motor and I can't hear it so I'm like Wtf get back in my car (parked and idling) and it gets louder so I get out again I put my hand on the driver support bar and I can feel a knock I put my ear up to my CAI filter and it's loud I figured out the metal cap on the filter was knocking against the front end right behind my headlight unsure how to make it stop knocking against it but hey at least it's not the motor

Yeah I bet that scared the hell out of you, glad to hear its not anything internal.

 

I should warn you, if you don't already know. The guage cluster in the 2000-2005 Montes have the tendency to go bad. With me it was my temp guage. It showed the needle all the way up past the highest temp on the guage.

 

It wasn't just the Montes it was all chevys that have a cluster like ours the Silverado00-05 had bad clusters as well unsure what other models are like ours but they were all bad lol mine seems to be fine ffor now tho did they ever make a recall on ours?

 

Adjust the intake tube so there is more clearance between the filter and the radiator support.

 

Going to do that when it quits raining lol
