Default My Monte Carlo Mods...

The 3 Monte's I have owned, I kept them pretty much stock. I figured they looked too dog done sweet to mess with too much. I did add the following though...

My signature black pinstripe
Mud Flaps
Door Edge Guards
Rust-Proofing & Undercoating
Drop-In K&N Air Filter
Replaced lights with Xenon headlights & foglights from www.eurodezigns.com
"Intimidator" Logos('06 & '07)
Removed those cheap little GM Logos from the quarterpanels('06 & '07)
Removed the Monte Carlo Logo off the trunk of the '07 to make room for the "Intimidator" logo

My '02 SS was fully loaded, had a 3800 V6 with 200 hp, and got 38 mpg's(no kidding, really). For some dumb reason the white '02 Monte's came with only white ground effects and white Monte Carlo logos. I had the dealership paint the ground effects galaxy silver and order the Monte Carlo logos in galaxy silver for me(not pictured here, they were still on order). "Intimidator" logos weren't available yet.

My '06 SS was fully loaded, had the 5.3 liter V8 with 303 hp, and got 32 mpg's BEFORE the ethanol mandate here in Iowa. Then it dropped to 27.2 mpg's. @#$%!!!

My new/used '07 is also fully loaded, has the 5.3 liter V8 with 303 hp, and gets 27.2 mpg's(same as the '06). @#$%!!! During the 926 miles road trip back from Painted Post, NY; I averaged 28.4 mpg's and had an average speed of 75.2 mph. Outside of Iowa I had a choice on whether to use ethanol or not. I chose NOT.

That's a color combo you don't see a lot of on 2000 and up Montes. More common on 4th gens. But I like it.

The rally stripes on the 07 is a nice touch.

Nice work!

Sharp cars! Nice touch with the silver bottom edged with the black stripe. I like that!

Cool stable.

I think I just drooled all over my keyboard? lol

Also, you don't like white cars do you?

White was never really a favorite of mine. BUT........... most of our cars are white.

First '57 had a white roof originally.
Second '57 does have a white roof.
Third '57 - white roof too.
Fourth '57 - white interior.
Fifth '57 - ALL white.
Sixth '57 - beige roof originally.

'81 Monte - white.
'86 Monte - white.

'94 Dodge Shadow ES - white.

My '79 Dodge Diplomat - white landau roof.

Guess I like white cars after all? lol

When you calculated 38MPG in your '02 SS, did you use the overhead computer to get it? I heard that thing is off by some margin. The best average MPG I've gotten was on a 240 mile trip, at 65MPH I got 34MPG, but I had to really baby it, let off cruise control going down hills, accelerate ever so slightly, never go more than 70, that sorta thing. My computer told me that I got 34, I think I actually got 29-30 when I looked at the fuel gauge.

Yes, I do hate white cars.

I thought about getting the "Intimidator" version when they first came out, but the black just didn't work for me. My white SS's look freaking SUH-WEET and the black ones paled in comparison. Especially when sitting side by side. Plus black is a pain to keep clean and every single ding, scratch, chip, etc shows up like a turd in a punch bowl.

As far as the mpg's on my '02, that's an accurate rating. The overhead computer said 38.1 mpg and my calculations came up with 38.97352 mpg. That was at 60 mph and at 70 mph it dropped to the 34-35 mpg range.

BTW, did you know the '02's had a limiter that slowed you down once you hit 113 mph? The '06's & '07's limit you to 123 mph. We have a nice long stretch of road down by Dysart that you can see for about 4 miles and only one dirt road intersects with it.

I've "blown the carbon out" a time or two on that highway at night.

That would have to be ALL highway, because it's impossible to get that in mixed highway/city or strictly city. Highest I've got was 28 MPG, all highway. City, I'm looking at around 16 MPG.
