my 98 z34 monte carlo air controls went bad on me, its stuck on defrost with the AC on, everything else works temp and air power control, how can i fix this? how much? and can i do it myself? i think its just a switch by the *** but i have no idea! thanks!

go tot he local pick and pull and get new controlls from another monte also.
Or you can patch it with taking the cabel in the dash and moving it manually with pliers etc.. if this is not what broke.

 

X2might just be easiest to swap it with a used one from a boneyard for $10.

 

funny you say that my friend is going to pick and pull to get a fender and bumper for his camaro, what do i need as for asembely? just what relys behind the **** or what is new controls? a whole center dash or what? i'm going this friday so get back asap if you can thanks!

 

ok i looked in the engine bay and there it was a broken vacume line, slapit back togeather and full heat! thanks once again guys!

Anyone know what areas under the hood one might begin to look for this leaking vacuum line that would cause the control to only blow air thru the defroster vents on a 1998 Monte Carlo Z34 ????
