Default My 1970 Build Thread

Hi, new to the forums, just wanted to start a build thread for my MC. I like to see progress and show it off, of course.

Anyhow, here's pics of how she started (3 days ago) picked her up for $1,800.

Welcome to the web site.

Nice project Monte. The engine upgrades look cool.

What other plans do you have for it?

I wanna keep it pretty much stock looking, except for some different wheels. However, I need to replace all my interior with black interior from a similar year. Goin for the black on black color scheme, maybe 2 red stripes comin down the center, not sure. Kinda just takin it as it goes. Only my 3rd day with the car lol.

I always liked the 70's montes. Thats not a bad buy for 1,800, Looks solid. I think you can get those front fenders and other body panals from NOS. I would recommend, upgrading your drum brakes if (you have them) to disk brakes.

I have disc up front, drum in the rear. Will probably stay that way for a bit, but eventually have disc upgrade for the rear in the future.

You should pull that V8 outta there and clean her up and paint her chevy orange. I did that on my old chevy pickup and it made a world of difference. I also degreased the engine bay and put a good coat of flat black on everything to give it a nice clean look. It only cost me 2 cans of dupont engine enamel and 2 cans of flat black spray paint. Well worth it.
