I created my set up 2 years ago for my 05 MC LS thats why my front end Main screen has the Old Style Monte Carlo and the Knight shield. I have to photoshop myself a new one now lol.
I use mine for GPS navigation and as an mp3 player.
Myset up is very easy to put in and take out in any MC. I have used the same components in an 05, 06 and 07
The only dashboard disassembly I had to do was on the 05 since it did not have an AUX audio input. I used a PAC Audio spliter.
Rest of the parts are 8" VGA Touch Screen. -- $100 bucks from ebay. native resolutiom is low but it works for me.
USB GPS reciever-- $60 from usglobalsat.com.
I am connecting a 4 year old compaq laptop that I got for free. Running XP pro.
Car power adapter for the laptop and a usb sound blaster got them from ebay for $50 togheter
The Front End Software is called Front Runner it is free and you can customize it yourself pretty easy.
GPS Software is Microsoft Streets & Trips 2007.
The Screen is being held to the dash by a clip from ProClip.com it was like $30. I have used the same one for 05, 06 and 07.
It does not need any disassembly to be installed just snaps in.
