Default My 02 SS

Hows it going guys,

Ive had my monte for 10 years now, and just last month i rolled 100k on the odm.
Valves are starting to chatter, 20k miles ago the tranny started shifting hard. So i know its time to start thinking about a rebuild. and if im gonna do it, i wanna do it right the first time.

Dont worry, im not your average first time poster. I've done my own homework. So i have a decent idea of whats going on here.

First up let me say i wanna do a top swap.
I feel thats a step in the right direction.
I do wanna get this car to 350-400 range in terms of power to the ground.

I've been looking around at various online sites, 3800performance.com, zzp, milzymotorsports.com, w body ect..

Other then supporting mods i/h/e, what am i looking at needing to reach my goal.?

Also plan on rebuilding my current tranny and adding some sort of shift kit.
And more then likely swap out the diff as well.

Just thought you guys might be able to lend alittle insight on everything.

Thanks guys

If you want that much power to the ground, ditch the Top-Swap plans and go turbo.

Well ive done turbos before, and could never get past the turbo lag in an automatic.

And i guess i got an itch for the whine of a blower.

Trust me, the money you will spend trying to get that blower to the same power is not worth it.

And turbo lag on these cars isn't that much. Besides, at a dead-stop with a lot of power you aren't going to be hooking up anyway.

Welcome, I believe it is a GTP from zzp, or it was at some point.

If you can afford one, I 2nd the turbo option.

Technically it was a Twin Turbo'd GP, but really it was a stripped car, and a short block. Not really a GP when they were done with it. lol
