Default MPG - It's Not The Car - It's me...

I let my daughters use my car to go to Cleveland for a Concert, a 365-mile round trip. Ionly request was for themto record the mileage on the gas slip when they got gas and I would pay for the fuel. Well... I got in the car this morning and the Avg MPG was at 21.1, and the manual calculation came to 21.4.

So it is official... My car is capable of getting decent gas mileage, just not with me.[&o]... It must be the short distances I drive (7-miles or less)-- because I tried the granny crawl for a week to see and that didn't work. So... I need to find a job on the other side of town so I get better gas mileage...(NOT!)

Hi Craig,
Great to read thatdaughter's returned safely from
their road trip.
You must be relieved : )
I've read member's post that are getting high 20's MPG
on road trips. But still that's decent MPG for a V-8.
I've learned that most auto dealer's today don't give
their salesmen, or staff free cars anymore : (
That use to be a `perk for working @ a dealership.
Tell your boss, you want a demo to drive, and keep the
miles `off your Monte : ).
How's the lemon law case going ?
Thanks for letting us know about the Cleveland Trip.
Hope they had a great time...I noticed that Detroit
is listed on the Top ten most dangerous cities, and
Orlando, Fl was 11th : (
Mickey Mouse is going to have to get a `gun : (
What a World : (

I trust my daughters fully, so I knew they would treat the car well, and the folks at OnStar took excellent care of them as the Mapquest directions I gave them, lead them into shutdown roads -- due to construction. The OnStar folks guided them around the closed roads.

My legal action will probably take place after the 1st of the year...

Detroit'srep has never bothered me...I don't live in the city or even near it for that matter (35-miles east of me). But when I go out of state and people ask where are you from and you say, Detroit... the look on their face is like you just shot someone... I personally feel more in danager when I am in New York, Miami or LA than I do in Detroit.

The Greasers... In my day there was the Greasers and the Frats... When I was in High School that splintered into the Jocks, Burn Outs, Povs, and Richies. I was in a Rock Band so I hungout with some of the burn outs, but played on the Football team so I hungout with some of the jocks, and my family was not poverty level, but we were not rich either. So, I was classified as burnouted jock (lol) By the way... NEVER took drugs EVER (my bother died from drugs - great lesson on what not to do)

My eldest daughter (from my first marriage - shotgun wedding at 18, that lasted 2-years), was in the Latin Counts at 15 before I stepped in and she came and lived with me for a couple years. My ex-wife lived on the Detroit Borderline (literally - her house was in Redford, and her garage was in Detroit)

Better watch out. As the baby boomers get even older the notorious street gang Geezers grows larger and larger.

Craig,
We tried to tell you to lay off the McD's stuff. Time to head on over the SubWay for lunch for a while. [sm=icon_rofl.gif]
