Very nice design!
Is it functional on the '06 & '07 SS models? Or does it just provide fresh air to the entire engine bay in general? Or is it completely closed off and just decorative?

The thread Wiz mentioned showed the vent funneling over the area where the CAI would be.

Cool. Literally it would seem.

Personally, I think the phoney hood scoops are a waste of money. When I had my 99 Grand Am GT, I almost bought the SC/T hood that GM offered on the '03-'05 models. But then I found out the two ports were plugged up. Even if I had opened them up, the ports were nowhere near the CAI, so they wouldn't have done anything but get the engine wet during rain or snow.

If the MPD hood is somewhat functional, and nice as it is, go for it!

That's a nice looking hood! Seems somewhat functional with the CAI kit. If it drops to $499..lol.. I'd buy one!

Yeah, while I highly doubt it isvery good as a true "ram-air" it definitely should help get some cold air into the engine. I would probably make sure it was the only opening to the air box though. That way if you do get a slight boost at higher speeds, it isn't lost because it's leaking through the other parts of the intake.
