I agree, they are great commuter cars. They are comfortable and not that bad on gas for how big they are.

Can't really say how long we will be together. I bought it on a whim when looking for a commuter car. Like Zach said, comfortable and great highway gas mileage. If/When I retire I'd like to go back to a SUV.

A car really has to repeatedly fail for me to give up (do you hear me 1979 Capri??) on it. The Monte is not without it's faults but I put up with the little things as long as it does its main job.

So we'll be together for another set of tires and who knows when the transmission will go out, that 195,000 miles is on the original one.

One question I have is what others average speed is? The DIC in the 7th gen has an average speed calculator in it and mine was 42 the last time I looked. I've never zeroed it out in 6 years.

No clue until I start it in the spring. I believe I'm around 195,000. Only been putting 2,000 miles on it per year for the last 4 years.

Google says it is 210023 miles. Agree the picture there looks real good.

Understanding the Metric System
  • 1 million microphones = 1 megaphone
  • 1 million bicycles = 2 megacycles
  • 2000 mockingbirds = 2 kilomockingbirds
  • 10 cards = 1 decacards (or is it 52 cards = 1 deck-a-cards?)
  • 1/2 lavatory = 1 demijohn
  • 1 millionth of a fish = 1 microfiche
  • 453.6 graham crackers = 1 pound cake
  • 10 rations = 1 decoration
  • 10 millipedes = 1 centipede
  • 3-1/3 tridents = 1 decadent
  • 10 monologs = 5 dialogues
  • 2 monograms = 1 diagram
  • 8 nickles = 2 paradigms

130,000 on"Lady Jasper" the '00 SS which we bought new. We've been through too much together to ever sell. It would be like selling a daughter... Lol.

169,000 on "Black Knight" the '03 SS that I bought last June with all intentions of fixing and flipping. I'm responsible for less than 500 of those miles. Resurrection is now complete. Although I've become attached, I'm already looking for the next gen. 6 Monte project and I don't have room for three gen. 6's. "Black Knight" might have to go.
