Not with the market in the condition its in... we need to wait for things to pick up. The discussion goes around 8-10 times a year, and I stand by what I say, if they're not going to make a performance, 2 door, sporty car, then they need to let the nameplate rest in piece. I don't want to see it come back as an economy car.'

As for the car you posted... very futuristic looking... interesting for sure. With Chevrolet having the Corvette for high end performance, the Camaro with the affordable V6 and all out V8's, and the Impala SS 4 door with the 5.3... I really don't see any room for a Monte at the moment

I would love to see the Monte Carlo come back but I don't think it's
going to happen.....
The car market is soooo flooded with sub compacts and family cars
now that I don't think a MC would sell very well . Unless GM or whoever
owns ( GM ) decides to create another V-8 RWD coupe with the MC nameplate
then it might then be pretty good. The MC is a great car for single people or
a nice affordable toy without breaking the bank. I would like to see a two
door Malibu SS..... That would be a nice looking li'l hot rod . OR. ..or
Call the Two door Malibu a Monte Carlo since they kinda crossed over each
other back in the 80's anyway. And look at a El Camino SS from the 80's ?

I think, if GM was to actually do a "Monte Carlo" again, or any time soon, it will be a two door version of the Malibu. It would be more cost efficient that way. But because of that, you're looking at another FWD car with there being very little chance of a V8. Here is what I've found...

Get rid of the Impala, replace it with the G8 (rebadged as a Caprice) and make a 2-door version of the Caprice and call it a Monte Carlo. Or, bring over the Holden Coupe 60 and make it a Monte...



I doubt it would happen since Chevy already has the vette and Camaro, but with no Pontiac around, it would give buyers an alternative since there won't be another GTO.
