Let's kick it around and see how much interest we have. When I first mentioned it a while back on brand X monteforum I found a handfull that were somewhat interested.
Anyone else here in or around Texas that would be interested?

ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS I WANT MY DAMED BBQ!!!!
If you do one for a club event i REALLY WANT IT THEN LOL
let me know if ya need some help i have no issues tryign to help folks out on this it has been great. we will be two years old in March and i have had a average of 50-80 folks at any givent time.
Right nwo were to 80 but some down range and some leaving the area so the numbers are low agian but they are climbing up again slowly.
I fyou have at least three to 5 folks that are willing to tear it up and make a good effort you can do it with out to much head ach. biggest thing is tracking down car you think are nice or folks that have potential to make thier cars nice and actually want to do so.
Also dont forget Word of Mouth gose a long way for any club. And there are folks you have never met out there that have things hidden in a old barn just itching for a good reason to pull them otu and take them for a ride again. As we foudn out here there ar emor classic's here then even i have though possibel . To include a True Model "t" Orgnial down to the wodden wheels and the 4 banger that is hand cranked.
IT is kool as hell to see him put up to ya and stop and look at your cars LOL

i have tried to join a few various car clubs here in the area but normally theyre likr a monte carlo thats not cool we dont want u in our clubor i dont hav ebigenough wheels or a loud enough radio is always the case
yeah belive me i know what your saying there was a club here that said in thier By-laws that you had to have over 20" wheels on the car and also you have to continue to upgrade the car and mod it . think it was like 5 mods a month and 2 major a year.
something crazy i knew a guy in it and it about put him in to the poor house trying to hang with them. he finnaly got out and came to our club.
they had really nice cars dont get me wrong but like he said there is only so much i can affored or that i want to do to my car/truck so why let them tell me i have to do it?
but that seems to be the way they are goign and i hate to see it it has become more of a popularity contest then what the car clubs were ment to be. ABOUT THE CAR!!! AND GOOD TIMES!!!
we enjoy trips on the third weekend of each month weather it is nothing more then just doing a short cruz to a diffrent town or to just hang out with frends and family at a BBQ . We do it to have fun. the rest of the time we are working on our cars or helping others learn how to work on thier cars.
or doing things to them. Kind of like the LED's in my dash those were done becuse i wanted them not becuse i was told i had to do them from a club.
Sorry kind of a sore spot with me in todays clubs, they are not clubs they are a fashon contest.
But then again i like the rat rod looks. on some cars also.

My brother, friend and I tried to get a car club going here in Portland, Oregon called "The Cheventies." It was going to be a club primarily dedicated to all Chevy's from the 70's (hence the name), but open to all GMs from 1970-1979. I have my 76 Monte, my friend has his 77 Impala and my brother was going to get my dad's 78 Caprice once my dad's Mustang was going. Unfortunately, interest was lost, regained and lost for a final time. My friend is forced to sell his 77 Impala because of financial reasons and the 78 Caprice was totalled when a 40-foot Peterbuilt tractor-trailer rear ended my dad on his way to work. My brother now owns a 93 Caprice 9C1 and my friend owns a 95 Impala SS. We had a website going too. It's sad really. I was looking forward to doing this, but crap happens. Oh well, at least I found a good car club in my area called Portland Club Grand Prix (PDXCGP). Mainly dedicated to the newer FWD Pontiac Grand Prix, but open to any and all GMs of any year.
Anyway, The National Monte Carlo Owners Association is a good club. Dedicated to the Monte Carlo from 1970-Present. I use to be a member, but could never afford to make it to the annual car show which always takes place in the eastern part of the country so I didn't renew my membership. I still visit the message board there, but that's about it. You live in CT, so getting to their annual shows would be closer for you.

Well I have been looking online and no car clubs in my area. SO I am going to start design on a website. I just need to decide if I want to do a SS club for all chevy SS vehicles or just a MC club. What do you guys thnk would be better? Any advantages of each. If I start a club I figure I can do T-Shirts and little decals with the logo I will come up with.
Also since I am using either the SS or Monte Carlo name, do I need to contact GM about rights for using the name or just use it and dont worry about it?
Thanks

good idea to have thier ok for useing a logo of any kind. But also to give you some help. it is better to have a club that more then one person can join if you have several car makes that can join it is a better chance of survial for it. good luck!!
the club should be SS monte carlo any year, after all we do communicate through the monte carlo forum. it's all about the monte guys. i'm in south florida pm me let me we'll get together and get something going.
