I have an 03 Monte and I put slotted rotors on the front. On a normal to slightly hard braking I can feel a feedback in the pedal, like I am feeling every slot going past the pad - is this normal? If not, do you have any idea what it is that's wrong.

 

Badly warped or are they still new?

 

Yes - they were new and you could hear the humm when applying brakes - then after a while they started doing this like a warped rotor, changed the brake pads (one was actually broken) and had the rotors turned but still got the same feedback feeling in the pedal.

 

That is not normal at all. If they were really brand new, i'd take them back. But beings you've actually had them turned, I doubt anyone will take them back.

Sounds like the rotors are warped, and just because you had them turned, does not mean they fixed the problem. I've literally had turned rotors come back more warped then they were. This is why I gave up on turning rotors. If my rotors are warped, i just buy new ones.

 

Yea, there's definately some issues there. Humming, feedback on the pedal, broken brake pads. These are not normal issues after all new components are installed. If you still have the old rotors, and there were no issues with them, you could reinstall them to see if your problems go away. Then you would know that your new rotors are the problem.

 

Check your hubs. If you have one going it will cause this condition to snowball into warped rotors. When you had the rotors turned did they say if one or both rotors were warped?

Resurfacing rotors on these cars doesn't help them as they are too thin to begin with. I suggest upgrading the system to the F-Body kit or GXP kit. The rotors are much thicker and will not warp from any usage on the W-Body platform.
