Typically this means that the bulb is bad.
They may light up but the signal part of the bulb could be bad.
Go to the Auto parts Store and purchase a pair and install both.
If you use a Walmart bulb it can go bad at anytime. avoid them. I replaced them about 3 times before I switched to the ones sold at an Auto parts store. (NAPA) has good ones and so will the GM dealer.
It's a good idea to wear gloves when you do this as the oils in your fingers will make the bulb go bad.
