A Monte Camino ?

It's really a novelty thing, kind of like that SSR a few years ago. My stance on the El Camino's and Ranchero's was always this: If you can't decide between a Silverado and a Monte Carlo, I don't know if I really need to be doing business with you!

I think, that this may have been the first fwd truck. Dodge Rampage
All be it a compact/mini truck based on the Dodge Omni/O24 & Horizon.
According to the web site where I pulled thei photo from. And don't forget the Subaru Brat.
I'm thinking that there was a Early 1920's or 30's fwd truck ?
A Packard maybe or a Studdi ?

I'm finding myself agreeing with Duane on this one. I never really liked the look of the half car/half truck thing. It seems to be not all that much of a pick-up bed to be useful. Seems more like the worst of both worlds.
On that 04 version, with the tailgate open, you got to remember that the rear bumper cover is all plastic. Won't handle any weight put onto it. So have fun getting in and out of the bed.
That's great if you like that kinda thing. More power to ya. But not my style.
When money allows, I plan on buying a full size pickup. Something with a big enough bed and engine to be useful. (I'll be keeping my Monte, by the way)
