You are nuts Space. I'll try to post more pics ASAP. No drag....just no splash up or mud now.
LOL! We are having the worst drought in 135 years, no offense, but can't imagine needing mud guards in So Cal.

I don't know if they do this in other areas, but in PA. the townships LOVE to tar and stone back roads. They spray an oily tar down, followed by a thin layer of stone and gravel. Then they let the traffic "run it in" for a few days.If you are lucky, they come back out with a sweeper later to remove the excess. It really makes a mess of your car though, not to mention the occasional broken windshield from someone passing you the other way kicking up the stones.
Sometimes they are nice enough to warn you with a sign saying "Road to be oiled next week" so you can plan to avoid it.

Almost all our high speed roads in So Cal are concrete. We have 10's of thousands of trucks that commute out of the ports here so we don't really have a tar problem.

Any roads that are asphalt usually end up with huge pot holes or huge ruts from the all semi's weight and usually get replaced with cement.

The only tar problems we have is tar that falls off of roofing trucks hauling those tar ovens.

Just poured down rain here today...and if I noticed a road had been 'treated' as you say Laser I'd immediately make a u-turn. I would never drive down it. I hate tar!

I hate tar on my car. (is that the basics for a new country song?)

The painted mud flaps = cool. I like it.

I like them as well. I'd consider them if I had painted rockers like your car... but black would kind of stick out.

oh, and hint, go to a body shop and get a roll of 3-M's Scotchcal. It's like those clear bras... but cheaper, and not custom made. Keep that nice looking paint ON the mudflaps, lol. A little extra work, but would go a long way. Body shops put this on the inner fenders of trucks, where the fender lips inward to the wheel well, to keep the paint from chipping.

You wouldn't even need to paint your rockers....flyng because the mudflaps would match the black perfectly.

Oh and the mudflaps were clearcoated so shouldn't chip very easily with them being plastic as well.
