What do they think? Donald Trump will buy the car at auction and give them more then their asking price? Never happens. They almost always take less for the car at auction. Sounds like a scare tactic.

A fair retail on that car is $6250... But I wouldn't buy it then... I might take it at $5200... might... naw...

actually what he said to you at teh dealer may be true. they'll take $5,000 at auction before they'll take your $6000 to buy it off the lot. virginia beach said this to me while i was looking for my monte. they said they'd rather sell it at auction for less than my offer. i said "You're CRAZY" he said if they sold the car for such a low price, the used car market fro the whole area could plummet.

i think i was being fed a load of ((!@$&!@)$ too come to think of it.

I'm a tool and die moldmaker. 33 years. 1st year cars are ALWAYS full of problems. Buy one several years into the build, at least an '02. The tail end of the build is a problem, also, as the tooling is wore out by then. My opinion is buy a '02-'05 SS. They have the 3.8, big brakes, traction control, etc. that the LS might not have.
Put in a better air intake box and a u-bend delete pipe, and enjoy the power AND milage.
