I would have to say that getting a silver one would be ideal. But if you find one in a different color, you could always re-paint.
Those covers can be hard to find. A few people here got into a bit of a bidding war when moderator Mickey agreed to sell his a while back.

I would also try searching junk yards. There are some online junkyards also. I wish I could remember the name of the sites. If I find any of the license plate filler plates, I'll be sure to post it.
