can anyone with a 06 or 07 try this and let me know if they can use their ignition key to open the drivers door. This just doesn't make any sense to me.

Have you tried this because of the other thread and your key also doesn't open the door?

Or are you just wondering before trying?

I assume you have tried wiggling and jiggling the key in the hole and still no dice?
Did you push the key in the slot all the way to the point where it bottoms out in the lock?

I think it's funny that;

a: People assume that EVERY SINGLE door lock on EVERY SINGLE 06/07 Monte ever built are seized from lack of use. Or...

b: People just assume that random strangers on the internet are unable to operate a freaking door lock without a fob. Really?

Seems legit...

I can't provide you with a 'why', but I know that they just don't operate the door lock. I sincerely hope that you get an answer to your question though.

6th Gens have the same key for the door as the ignition. I use a secondary key all the time to open my car door in the winter (I'll start it to warm up, lock it all up, and use my 2nd ignition key to open my doors)
