Looking at a 2006 Monte Carlo
Looking at a 2006 Monte Carlo,my sister Amanda is and it is not me.She is looking at it daily driver.Looked at one today,a 2006 SS and the owner is not lowering the price for a reason.Runs bad and quits.Luckily her former BIL is a mechanic and hooked up a fuel pressure gauge,0 fuel pressure.Said fuel pump is bad and the owner said he had it replaced.I looked at reciept and an Airtex pump was installed. The owner is swearing up and down the fuel pump is not bad and will not lower the price.Amanda and I are saying he is full of crap and her former BIL agrees with us.I know very well Airtex gets a bad rap for fuel pump failures. We walked out and left. What do you think?
Depends on what the price, miles and condition were. Without that info i dont think i can honestly say if it'd be worth getting or not. for the right miles and price you could fix the fuel pump yourself and it'd still be worth it if everything else was right as in price and condition.
What's the details of the car, miles, engine, options, price, etc? It could be a fuse/relay, loose connection, fuel pressure regulator or fuel filter could be plugged. I know nothing of that brand. If the pumps turning on you should be able to hear it I would think .
It is a clean car with 87,000 miles on it.Her former BIL plans on replacing the fuel pump with a Delphi fuel pump if she buys it,he knows Delphi or AC Delco fuel pumps for GMs only. The seller wants $9,500 for with the bad fuel pump.
CANDICE ! STOP.Google AUTOTRADER.COM Then type in Chev....Monte carlo. I found 16 in just 2 mins of looking. You'll have to put in yr zip and price range and yr. Then go from there. Thats how I found mine. Good luck
i think that that price is a little steep with that mileage. i want to get rid of mine next year, and plan on having only 65000 or so on it. i want to try and get 11 or so. ive seen alot of the ls4 cars go for 10 with way less mileage than that car has.
