I'd keep it and start saving. Then if it is still running when you finally have enough money for a newer Monte, keep it as a winter beater.

I'd say this, the up side to having a car thats not in great shape is you don't have to worrya bout how it looks or where that scratch came from or when the last time you cleaned it was lol. I'd say keep it and save for a new one.

I would save up for a while and see what is around. Lately around my area i have seen several early 6th gen ss cars in the 2500 to 3000 price range.

If I sold mine, i would probably only be able to fetch 3000 for it. IF THAT.

Look around, you'll find a decent one

If i were to buy a new monte i would take my time until i find what i want. Who knows what i could get for mine, probably get back what i paid. But to get a new monte i'd have to take a loan. Which isn't not possible but i suppose i'll keep driving this one. Its been good to me, i've done almost 20k miles in the year that i've had it.

It's always good to be picky when shopping for a used car. Wait and get what you want

Took me MONTHS to find this Camaro. But I wasn't desperate.

I say keep it and save and buy a newer one. That way you can drive your one now as a daily and keep the miles down on the newer one I also agree get a 3800 or the 7th gen monte ss with the 5.3

I'm more or less in the same boat but I think I decided to keep mine since I have already replaced the lower intake man. gaskets...and the timing cover gasket. Transmission still shifts great. This is my second monte, my first was a 96' with well over 200k when I parted with it. This one is a 98' I use for a daily driver and is working its way up to 200k. Currently at 160k.

Its paid for, and gets me to work and back. If I feel like driving something different I can hop in my truck, or my bike. When it's time to upgrade I have my eyes on the new monte SS and keeping this girl for dd and to drive in the winter.
