they must of changed the premium stereo option...

They did the same in the 05 trailblazer. The bose system in that thing is killer but all i hear on trailvoy forums is people hate it because its not loud and there is no base on the other years...

 

I have a friend who sometimes drives his moms G6 and he thinks it has more bass than my monte with the amp. While that might be true, for one thing I wasn't going to try and push my speakers cause I don't want to blow them and it was already fairly loud, but secondly the G6 has bass but it isn't clear bass like this monte's. Same thing with my brothers grand prix gt, no amp so all it makes is booming bass.
