Hi everyone,
My 02 SS ignition cylinder is currently locked in the off position. I tried moving the key down a bit as shown in a YouTube video but didn’t work. I need some ideas on how to get my car started.

It happened to my car also , the one way I solved the issue was with a new key tumbler. Which btw is a pain because you must drill out the old lock and then relearn the key switch. You will have to search to find the procedure but it's about the only way to remove the switch because the switch must rotate to remove it from the harness. Good luck

 

I had that procedure completed at the local shop (not a GM dealer) that does all my work.
The new cylinder on a 2006 Pontiac Torrent was $185.00 installed. This worked perfect after that.
