so someone texted me today wanting to trade cars with me, he has a blue 1991 honda crx si with a d16y7 and a 5 speed. it needs some body work but ive had tons of experience with hondas/acuras so i know how to work on them. idk what to do though bc for the job im probably about to get is about 2 hours away and my monte would never make it that far everyday. plus she drinks gas and i dont have the money right now to do an overhaul. and yes i know i will be giving up 109 ho but i would be upgrading from 20 mpg to about 35. which would help me right now. what should i do?

 

Do whatevers best honestly though most times I've found that hindas of any age are usually beat to hell by the drivers. If theres nothing simple you can do to increase mpg then its up to you 20mpg sounds really fishy though if i babied my 5.2l dodge ram v8 when i had it i could get 18.

my parents have owned tons of hondas over the years and ive learned from them and my brother how to work on them. my actual first car was supposed to be my moms 95 integra gsr but she sold it. and 20 is just a guess. im thinkin my monte gets maybe 19 to 20 on the highway. and thats AFTER ive seafoamed it.

 

wow thats bad, if you want the honda go for it nothing against it just seems ppl mod them and add things to em and race em and **** with em so much theyre junk by the time theyre over 12 yrs old. A lot of the people around here always end up spend 5k on the ones with the vtecs or whatever then find out that theyre in bad shape and are stuck with the loan. Honestly though go with what you like.

yeah i see people around here ricing them out. putting huge spoilers and big wheels on them and making them super loud. if i get it i plan on restoring it and making it more of a jdm type car. and with the money ill save on gas i can put towards buying a new monte someday

Do what u need to , if the honda is better for uthan go with it but deff look the car over like crazy to male sure its in good reliable shape
