Default I Need Some Infornation

The '00-05 Montes, when you turn the ignition key to ACC (accessory)do the gaugesenergize and do you hear a noise when they do this?

Since we've never owned a '00-05 Monte I don't know if this is normal or not?

I hear what sounds like plastic gears spinning for a quick sec. It has always done that since new.

I heard that in my 2000 Monte Carlo.I think it is the fuel pump energizing.

Fuel pump should buzz, the sound that StaleAle is hearing is his ABS system self-test. It's normal. Now, I know on my Malibu with the same ignition set up as you guys have, when I click it to ACC my gauges DO engergize. But other than that the only thing that happens is the radio and windows work.

yes, gauges make a noise, almost like grinding, resetting the gauges, and the fuel pump will make a wine. ABS should not test until AFTER you turn your ignition on.

Thanks for the responses guys, & gals.

I just wanted to make sure we didn't buy a car with some kind of major electrical issues and neither of us were aware of the problem being first time owners of a great car like the '00-05 Montes are.

Now I can sleep at night.
