HP question?

LOL, now thats smart money talking... Building a Monte is a tough game to get into, seems like you never really ever win for long. Pretty soon it's back to the shop and another 3 months pay fixing her back up.

Greg and Tylor,
Yeah, I have a good number of cosmetic mods I want to do. And some mechanicals as well. But they are thing to increase responsiveness, CIA, completing the exhaust, better braking. Not really HP mods. If I really wanted more HP I would have bought the Red 06 I saw for sale from a bone yard in Ct. for $5500. It had the V8 motor but it also looked like someone's head went through he windshield. I am a bit jealous of the Altima in my house but I can live with it. Hay, after all, it is in my house! And it's not a Honda wannabe!

Speaking from experience, doing an NA build is only fun if you have some competition. When I first started modifying my Monte 8 years ago, I was competing head to head with a guy on mymonte.com named MasterJacko. He lived a little over an hour away from me and we raced against each other at the drag strip.
That made it fun for me. But once the competition was gone, modifying my Monte and keeping it NA was frustrating. My best NA 1/4 mile time was a 14.4. A stock turbo Cobalt SS can break into the 13s and comes with a stick. That's why I went with a CSC. I was able to keep my NA mods and make a big power jump. But even then, v8's are making serious hp nowadays. Yeah my Monte is fun, but these new engines are impressive.

I know. I remember my 94 Altima was 180ish out of a 4 cylinder. Have you guy seen the specs for the 2015 Buick grand National with the 4 cylinder? Wow! And this 3.5 Altima with 250. Nissan has a 340 Z, with 600. I'll stick with my Monte but Dang!
