Default How to wire 6th Gen Headlights to 7th Gen SS

Hey, I'm doing the LS4 swap that Dredd did back in 2009. The only thing that I cannot figure out is how to wire up the headlight plugs properly, I have the turn signals working just cant get the headlamps to turn on. I've scoured the 16 pages of that write-up time and time again, but cant find anywhere that he mentions how he wired then, just that he "spliced" them. I really hope that someone can point me in the right direction.

Do you have the wire diagrams from both? Are they both regular halogen bulbs? Are you getting power up there when you turn your switch on? Ground confirmed ok?

Sounds like he was just swapping the plug at the end (so the new harness mates with the older style bulb plugs).

I have the diagram for both the 03 and the 06. I am using brand new stock halogen bulbs.

Utilizing a test light I am getting power to both the Hi and Low bulbs (I tested inside the headlight assembly) I am getting a good ground before and after my splice on the ground(black) wire all the way to the connection to the assembly. But I am not getting a ground signal inside the assembly (black wire to the bulbs).

The only wires that that I have not connected the 06 harness are the wires that were originally ran to the 03's Hi/Low switch on the steering column. I don't know if I actually need these wires due to the 06 harness running the Hi/Low switch to relays in the fusebox instead the headlights themselves.

Sorry for the dumb question - but where is your splice?

Id assumed it would be spliced just behind each headlight, but then Im confused how it would have ground there but not a few inches of wire later at the socket.

I cut off the 2006 connecter and spliced in the 2003 connecter. I haven't spliced anything inside the headlight assembly. 2003 connector has 7 wires, 2006 connector only had 5 because it does not have wires running the hi/low switch.

Yelp, I figured it out. The switch doesn't supply power to the bulbs, it completes the circuit by providing the ground for the bulbs. Soldered the Hi/Low switch wires to the connector's ground wire and now everything is working as intended!
